You might know already that the color for the year of 2017 is the Greenery. Considered by Pantone a refreshing and revitalizing shade, it was chosen because it represents redevelopment – well, considering everything negative that happened in 2016, this is completely acceptable and welcome, don’t you think?!
The greenery is also directly connected to the nature, so you might probably think about how to match this tipical color with others! I confess that, for a moment, I thought nothing would be possible to match with this shade except itself and its variations, but I was obviously wrong. You can match Greenery with lots of other tones – that go so beyond the neutrals we love, such as white, black, nude and grey. Let me show you!
It was possible to see this color in some catwalks, on the latest fashion shows in 2016. Among some brands that made a bet on it, there are Lacoste – showing the Greenery in a sportwear mood with grey pants -, Emilio Pucci – matching the color with yellow shoes, which is a great option, once both are practically surtons (Brazilian mood!) – and Michael Kords created such an interesting mix and match between Greenery and Blue, with flower prints, so tropical.
Well, you might also think if we’re talking about a “nature color”, it’s probably more coherent to use it on Summer. If you think like that, you’re wrong. The Greenery is neutral and appropriate for any time of the year. The secret is to remember that: when Pantone stipulates a color, we musn’t forget about its variatons. So dark green, for example, is perfect for mid season and winter. Take a look at those pretty outfits and get inspired by them!
Of course we should agree about something: green is a remarkable color. So if you’re thinking about using it differently, try to begin with one or another accessory in the color, between other neutral shades. Then, you create the famous styling trick called “color points”.
So if you’re in doubt about how many shades Greenery can be matched with, I can tell you: many ones, besides the basics we know. Here are ten color pairings for you to choose your favorite and give a try (I’ve got it from Pantone Oficial Website):
