It has been called “ugly” and “comy” for so many generations, but, now, it is getting a fashion, trendy and audacious image, also making part of many outfits in street styles all over the world. I’m talking about the belt bag!
That is why I love fashion. It is pretty cool the democratic way things can be used, and old things we’ve thought it would never be used again start to be trendy over and over. We should never say “never” in the fashion world – well, in other “worlds” too.
The belt bag became trendy in some catwalks this season – such as Céline fall 2016 and Chanel Couture Spring 2016. In Brazil, it got remarkable in some collections in SPFW too, also, in their fashion store, called “FFW Store”. But its style is nothing old-fashioned: it gained a current concept, definitely making your outfit more trendy and practical than ever.
Some famous people, like Sarah Jessica Parker has used the belt bag in their street style, which is another good inspiration for us.
I personally always hated belt bags. I remember when I was 6 and saw my mom getting out with a model, an old one, and she used to wear it to go to so many places, specially, when it was like a “quick outing”. I used to say: “mom, are you going out using this?”. Now I really think that there is not a better accessory for you to be with free hands and have more security with your bag when you walk in the streets.
I am really thinking about getting a belt bag for me. When I go to events, I always think that I could be hanging one of it, that it would really helps me to work, taking photos and taking notes without carrying a bag with one of my arms or hands. The backpack is an accessory that would make those tasks easier, but, the problem is it stays in the back.
And you don’t need to spend lots of money on that: that’s why second hand stores and bazaars exist. Maybe you can find one back in your mother’s closet and take it for a walk. If you like it, why not?
I’m pretty convinced that I need one, not only to make my outfits more fashionable but also to make my day-of-work easier. I’ve selected some street styles with the accessory to inspire us. Check it out!
So did I convince you or you still don’t want to get one of this? Xx and see you in the next post! 😉
