I am so tired of reading articles about fashion consulting that gives tips only for skinny bodies. This makes me sick, because I believe it doesn’t exist a standard body. We shouldn’t think some biotype is ideal (we shouldn’t think anything is ideal, whatever). We are women, with different bodies and, in some cases, lots of curves, thank God!
So I’ve decided to gather some fashion tips I believe are really useful to help you valorizing your silhouette, no matter how it is – specially, the curvilinear ones! Because the beauty exists in the eyes of who see it, not in a pattern. Let’s go?
This is the most valorizing neckline you can wear, specially if you have big breasts. Besides stretching your lap, it emphasizes the “8-format-body”, defined by larger hips and shoulders and skinnier waist. It also fits you better if you use it with some other skinny piece of clothes in the hips, like a skinny skirt or pants.
I respect if you don’t like this piece of cloth, but here is a fact: it turns your outfit into a more sexy one, besides valorizing a lot your curves. You can match it with V neckline shirts (as I’ve mentioned before) or if you have larger hips and want to “hide” it, try a blazer, a jacket or some lighter colors’ shirts to balance proportions. If you are skinny you can also try light colors, that makes parts of your body bigger, visually speaking. Or you can make use of the belt – that besides being the villain in some cases – it can helps you a lot in this case, creating curves on you.
Any dress that has a curved modeling is a good option for you. The “A-format” ones are even better, because they valorize all the biotypes. Try a model with structured shoulders, because they balance your proportions in a good way.
It is important to make it clear that you are NOT obligated to show your curves only because you are a woman. My only objective here is to demystify this wrong idea about “being skinny is the ideal” and “curves are ugly”. This doesn’t exist.
Every girl and every woman is pretty and has a great body, you just need to know how to dress yourself in a way that valorizes it – and, of course, makes you feel pretty. If you feel great and you are ok with yourself, please, show the middle finger to the other ones’ opinion. Deal?
Xx and see you in the next post!
